Description

M78 (a.k.a. NGC 2068) is a bright, diffuse reflection nebula approximately 1,600 light years distant in the constellation Orion. I captured this image on the nights of February 2-4, 2022 from our observatory in Mariposa, California.

Equipment and processing used: Celestron RASA-11 scope with ZWO ASI294 MC Pro OSC camera riding on an iOptron CEM120-EC2 mount.  N.I.N.A./PHD2 used for image acquisition.  About nine hours total exposure through IDAS-LPS-D1 and ZWO Duo filters.   My first attempt doing all processing with PixInsight.
